The Marcus girls basketball team defeated DeSoto on Saturday afternoon to advance to the regional quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
Morgan Easley led the team in scoring with 19 points, while Vanessa Jones added 18 points and Taylor Roof scored 11 points in the game.
Ashley James, Alexus Jones, Jasmine Richard and Taylor Hayes combined for 17 points against DeSoto.
The Lady Marauders improved to 29-2 on the season with the victory, and will square off against L.D. Bell this Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at Northwest High School.
