When the Texas sun sets and its winter skies go dark, Gaylord Texan’s 1.5 million twinkling lights turn on. Now through January 4, 2014, Gaylord Texan Resort’s 10th annual Lone Star Christmas event, presented by Kodak, offers a variety of holiday activities, live entertainment, and grand displays to celebrate the season like none other in the Lone Star State. Located minutes from Flower Mound in Grapevine, Gaylord Texan Resort is your holiday fun headquarters!
Experience Lone Star Christmas
This year, the resort will invite visitors inside to enjoy a delightful winter wonderland featuring: 1.5 million holiday lights, 350 lit trees including a 54-foot Christmas tree, 2 million pounds of hand-carved ice, 1.5 million pounds of real Texas snow, magical miniature train sets, 7-foot tall gingerbread house with train, 25-foot tall toy soldiers, 2,300 decorated wreaths, 5,600 feet of garland, 12,000 festive ornaments, 2,500 poinsettias, and 7,500 gingerbread kits.
A variety of amusing holiday entertainers will also be present including Santa Claus, toy soldier stilt walkers, the Little Drummer Boy, and more.
Be Amazed by The Magic of “ICE!”
The truly spectacular 14,000-square-foot “ICE!” exhibit, presented by Pepsi, Metro PCS, and Lexus, will feature the magical story of The Nutcracker in two million pounds of ice. Forty master ice artisans traveled to the Texan all the way from Harbin, China to spend thirty days hand-carving the spectacular life-size characters and scenes.
Visitors will feel as though they have been transported to the North Pole as they bundle up in complimentary parkas and enter this winter wonderland kept at a wintry 9 degrees to enjoy the Nutcracker scenes, slides and special bonus rooms including “Christmas in New York” and the awe-inspiring Nativity – all in ice!
“ICE!” is open from 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 10 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday & Saturday.
Enjoy a Thrilling Snow Tubing Adventure
It is going to snow all holiday season at Gaylord Texan! Made fresh each morning, our 8-lane giant snow tubing hill for both kids and adults is constructed with 1.5 million pounds of real Texas snow. Grab a tube and hang on for downhill fun! Open 10 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
Decorate Gingerbread To Your Heart’s Delight
The holiday season just got a whole lot sweeter! Choose from five decorating options ranging from a gingerbread family to decorating a gingerbread train set. All of the delectably tasty decorations are provided for families to ice, sprinkle, and gun drop to their hearts content. Open 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday–Thursday and Noon–9 p.m. Friday & Saturday
Journey To Christmas Kingdom – A Holiday 5d Adventure!
Help the Toy Soldier and his friends find Santa’s missing presents and load up the sleigh! Embark on an exciting journey as their 5D cinema takes you inside the Christmas Kingdom. Put your senses on overdrive as you experience magical bubbles, fog, lasers, and more. Along the way, ride the virtual roller coaster, hop through the enchanted Wish Tunnel, and explore a Holiday Candy Castle in this fun, interactive holiday adventure the whole family will enjoy!
