Lantana Brownie Troop has students covered

Blanton Elementary School Brownie Troop 3885 will collect new socks and underwear for homeless students in the Denton ISD this month as their SLANT 45 community service project.

Last year, there were over 800 identified homeless families with students in the Denton ISD, according to organizer Misti Davis.

“Many times these students lack the basic necessities of life such as socks and underwear,” said Davis.

Area residents can drop off new socks and underwear for students on Saturday, Oct. 23rd, from 1 to 3pm at the Lantana Gazebo on Lantana Trail.

Those unable to drop off items at that time can coordinate a donation via e-mail at [email protected].

Service Learning Adventures in North Texas, known as SLANT 45, is the youth education initiative of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee.
