The Town of Flower Mound provides annual funding to community support organizations that offer activities, programs and services for residents while helping make Flower Mound a great place to live and visit.
Of the 21 organizations the town supports, five are dedicated to the performing arts. During the Cultural Arts Commission meetings in May and July, commissioners heard presentations from each of those organizations. The presentations showcased not only the groups’ accomplishments, but also the depth and breadth of the arts opportunities available in our community.
The organizations include the Flower Mound Community Orchestra, Lewisville Lake Symphony, Our Productions Theatre Co., Voices of Flower Mound and Actors Conservatory Theatre. Together, they represent instrumental music, vocal performance and theater, offering educational and performance opportunities for participants of all ages. Many also collaborate with one another to bring high-quality live performances to the community.
The Flower Mound Community Orchestra supports two ensembles — the Flower Mound Symphony Orchestra and the Flower Mound Philharmonic. The 90-member organization presents concerts throughout the year and regularly partners with other local arts groups for patriotic and holiday performances.
The Lewisville Lake Symphony presents a four-concert symphony series and a four-concert international chamber music series. In addition to bringing live classical music to local audiences, the organization hosts an annual educational concert for every third-grade student in Lewisville ISD. Its annual presentation of “Peter and the Wolf” returns March 6, 2027.
Our Productions Theatre Co. provides educational and performance opportunities for students and adults while fostering the next generation of performers and artists.
Voices of Flower Mound is a mixed chorus of more than 80 singers. The group performs at Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Independence Day events, joins other local arts organizations for annual Christmas concerts, and regularly performs throughout the United States and internationally.
Actors Conservatory Theatre (ACT) has inspired children across North Texas to develop a love for the performing arts while providing high-quality, community-based children’s theater productions.
Each of these organizations participates in the annual Flower Mound Arts Festival at Heritage Park. More importantly, each works to make music and theater accessible, engaging and enjoyable while cultivating lifelong appreciation for the arts. Their leaders are accomplished professionals who are deeply committed to their missions and to preserving live theatrical and musical performance for future generations.
Together, these organizations enhance the quality of life for Flower Mound residents and neighboring communities by providing exceptional local arts experiences.
