Flower Mound Mayor Derek France announced Wednesday that a new traffic signal on FM 1171 is coming soon.
The town is currently accepting contractor bids for the construction project to build a new signal at the intersection of FM 1171 and Canyon Falls Drive, France said in a public Facebook post on Wednesday morning. The town plans to award the contract at the Aug. 21 Town Council meeting. The signal could be operational by early 2024, barring construction delays.
“The good news is that the project equipment, including the poles, has already been delivered and will be ready for installation,” France said in the post. “I know this has been a long-awaited addition, and I’m excited about how it’ll help Canyon Falls & Trailwood residents more easily exit their neighborhood and improve traffic flow and safety in this area of town. I’ll keep you posted on project updates as we have them.”
