A young woman who was reported missing in Carrollton was found dead Sunday near Ponder.
About noon on Sunday, someone was fishing in Denton Creek near FM 2449 west of Ponder when they found the body on the creek bank and reported it to authorities, according to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as 20-year-old Jade Monique Harris. The cause of death is listed as a stabbing, and it is being investigated as a homicide. Because the investigation is ongoing, little other information is available.
