Highland Village Restaurant Week to begin Sunday

Highland Village Restaurant Week, a week-long promotion to support the Texas Police Chiefs Association’s Fallen Officer Fund, will begin Sunday.

In conjunction with the city’s 12th annual TXFallenPD Tribute Event, participating restaurants will give a percentage of their sales — some from their whole menu, others from a single item — to the Fallen Officer Fund, according to the city. Participating eateries include Freddy’s Steakburgers, Fresco’s Mexicana, Hillside Fine Grill, Popdod, Salerno’s, Shoal Creek Tavern, Sip Stir Coffee House, Snuffer’s and The Brass Tap.

The TXFallenPD Tribute Event is a community event that takes place at The Shops at Highland Village. Activities include a 5K run, civilian bike race, police bike race and a police obstacle course. There will be entertainment and live music, demonstrations, a kids zone, food, and drinks throughout the day. Opening ceremonies will begin a 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 19, with the 5K at 3 p.m., the citizen bike race and police obstacle course at 4 p.m., and the police bike race at 5 p.m.
