Flower Mound police have participated in the “Tip a Cop” fundraiser for years, including 2015, shown here.

The Flower Mound Police Department will raise funds Thursday for Special Olympics Texas in the annual “Tip a Cop” fundraising event.

From 5-9 p.m. Thursday, FMPD officers will act as servers at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant, 3811 Long Prairie Road, and collect donations for the Special Olympics, according to a FMPD Facebook post.

“Tip a Cop” is a national campaign that provides awareness and support to children and adults with intellectual disabilities through events like this local one. All donations will go toward sports training and athletic competitions for Special Olympics Texas.

The Denton County Sheriff’s Office will also be running the same “Tip a Cop” fundraiser, also from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, at the Texas Roadhouse located at 2817 South Interstate 35-E in Denton.
