A tractor-trailer fire forced the complete shutdown of I-35W in southern Denton County on Thursday afternoon.
The Argyle Fire District and Flower Mound Fire Department responded to the fire on the northbound lanes of the interstate south of the FM 1171 interchange around 1 p.m. Thursday. The trailer was “fully involved,” according to the Flower Mound Fire Department, and it was full of cardboard, according to Argyle Fire Chief Mac Hohenberger. The cause of the fire wasn’t known Thursday afternoon.
Later on in the afternoon, all southbound lanes and one northbound lane was reopened. Around 6:45, FMFD tweeted that all lanes had been reopened.
