A Bartonville Town Council candidate forum originally scheduled for Wednesday evening has been rescheduled because of forecast severe weather.
The forum has been rescheduled for Monday, April 22 at 7 p.m. at Lantana Fellowship Church, 2200 East Jeter Road, according to the town of Bartonville.
The 2019 Bartonville Town Council general election is for Council members for Place 1, 3 and 5, each for a term of two years. Those seats are currently held by Jeff Traylor, Clay Sams and Josh Phillips, respectively.
Sams and Phillips are running unopposed for re-election, but Traylor does have one challenger, Sherry Pound.
There will also be a special election for the unexpired seat in Place 4, because Council member Jim Murphy recently resigned. Bridget Melson and Harry Otto are running for that seat, which will expire next year. The four candidates in the two contested races are expected to participate in the forum on Monday evening.
Sheldon Gilbert will be the forum moderator. He has asked that Bartonville residents email him questions for all the candidates at [email protected]. He will discard any questions that are personal or not addressed to all candidates, according to the town.
