Denton County Sheriff’s Office to host open house for new Explorer program

The Denton County Sheriff’s Office will host an open house for its newly-formed Explorer program for teenagers.

The sheriff’s office is recruiting local residents between the ages of 14-20 who are interested in law enforcement.

“Hopefully the individuals we recruit will one day join the DCSO,” said Capt. Hino Hinojosa.

Participants in the program will be mentored by DCSO deputies and detention officers. The ongoing program will meet after school and on weekends.

The open house is scheduled for 6-7 p.m. on Thursday in the sheriff’s office front lobby, 127 North Woodrow Lane, Suite 300.
