The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of North Texas — including Denton County — for Thursday morning and early afternoon.
A long line of storms from Oklahoma through Abilene to San Angelo is headed east and will reach our area soon, according to the weather service.
The NWS forecast calls for showers and storms — some severe — in DFW, most likely to affect Denton County between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The main threats are hail, damaging winds and possible isolated tornadoes.
Most of the storms will move out of our area Thursday afternoon, but there will remain a chance of showers and storms Thursday night. More storms are in the forecast for Friday.
