The Argyle Lady Eagles will make a trip to the state tournament for the fifth straight year in a quest for their fourth consecutive state title.
The defending 4A state champions left no doubt about their ambitions in its rubber match against Sanger on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Lady Indians by a score of 39-15 at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Sanger was shut out in the first half by Argyle’s dominant defense, trailing 21-0 at halftime. Sanger ended the game making just 4 out of 33 attempts.
Argyle’s Rhyle McKinney and Gabby Standifer finished with 10 points each.
Argyle will play Wheatley in the 4A State semifinal game on Friday, March 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
