NWS freezing rain advisory now includes Denton County

Freezing rain is expected to fall in Denton County later Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth.

The weather service forecast calls for isolated storms in the Dallas-Fort Worth area from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, with freezing drizzle falling just northwest of Denton.

From 6 p.m. to midnight, the freezing rain “will slowly expand south and east” to cover Denton County, but not much else of DFW, the forecast says. Denton County was added to the winter weather advisory midday Tuesday.

Freezing rain is expected to end around midnight, but temperatures will fall below freezing, so any icy areas are expected to remain icy through Wednesday morning.
