The Flower Mound Police Department is holding another Digital Child ID event on Wednesday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Activity Center, 1200 Gerault Road.

The kits are free and allow parents to take a digital identification kit home containing all the vital information needed for the national Amber Alert System.

FMPD will also be conducting child safety seat inspections during the event.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, “Nationally, misuse rates are estimated to be about 80% and can be found in all races, socioeconomic, and educational levels.”

The safety seat inspections help ensure car seats are installed correctly, parents are educated for future installations, children are placed in the seats correctly, and that the age/size of the child coincides with the correct safety seat.

Residents should bring their current safety seat(s) installed in the vehicle their children most frequently ride in.
