Liberty Christian School to host preview day

Now in its 34th year, Liberty Christian School in Argyle wants to show off a little bit.

The private school will host its Spring Preview Day on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. Families will enjoy “Breakfast with the President” at 9 a.m., where they will meet administrators and learn more about the school.

The breakfast is followed by personalized student-led tours throughout the school.

Just last year, Liberty expanded its school by completing a new two-story Upper School for 9th–12th grade students, a new school library, seven new classrooms for Lower School and Early Childhood, and a Lower School gymnasium.

Liberty Christian was named the top private school in Texas in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) 5A for the fourth year in a row last May. This prestigious award is given to the school with the most points earned throughout the year in student academic, fine arts, and athletic competitions.

In the midst of its rigorous college preparatory curriculum, Liberty Christian teaches values, principles, and character through biblical instruction in every grade level and through service opportunities throughout the year in the community and around the world.

Liberty Christian graduates have gone on to Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Duke, and Stanford, as well as top universities in the state of Texas. Graduates as a whole receive more than $6 million in scholarships each year.

Liberty offers Pre-Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement courses in the Middle and Upper School, and students have the opportunity to join many student organizations, such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Foreign Language Clubs, a Leadership Academy, National Honor Society, and the Solar Car Club, which traveled to Australia for the World Solar Car Challenge in October 2015.

Sophomores travel on tours of colleges in Texas and the surrounding states each year, and educational trips for families are offered throughout the year that have seen destinations such as Ireland, China, Israel, New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C.

Students also grow in their artistic ability each year through Liberty’s award-winning programs in theatre, choir, art, and band.

Liberty Christian offers 20 varsity sports, and state championships in various sports are celebrated most every year.

Liberty is located at 1301 S. Hwy. 377 in Argyle, between FM 1171 and FM 407.
