Sometimes Dad really prefers something other than a tie for Father’s Day and the Denton Airshow is a great opportunity to impress him.

War birds and cool aerobatics will make you the favorite for years to come. Bring dad and the family to the Denton Enterprise Airport on Sunday and enjoy the Denton Airshow from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“The Denton Airshow’s success is a direct result of the development and growth of the Denton Enterprise Airport,” says Quentin Hix, Director of Aviation for the City of Denton.

“The addition of a control tower in 2004 and expanding the runway to 7,000 feet in 2011 allow more appearances by military jets such as the F-16s. The presence and variety of planes at the air show allow the Denton Enterprise Airport to be a key partner in preserving the history of aviation.”

While there is a lot to see and do at the Denton Airshow, the performer schedule is very tight and on time. If you plan to catch the excitement of the show be sure to be inside the gate at least by 10 a.m. These are the highlights you don’t want to miss:

  • Introduce the kids to a real pilot. Take the kiddos to meet the pilots at the Pilots Tent. Visit with them, take pictures and get autographs.
  • The National Anthem with The Texas Twisters’ Flyby is at 11:07 a.m.  This moment will captivate you so bring your camera for awesome pictures of this very patriotic moment.
