Steven Bruce, a 2010 graduate of Flower Mound High School, has signed as a free agent with the Texas Rangers.

Bruce was a three season varsity starter at FMHS, earning 10 wins in his senior season.

He began his collegiate baseball career playing two seasons at the University of Oklahoma.

After a transfer, he played his last two seasons at Keiser University in West Palm Beach Florida.

This season as the ace, Bruce went a perfect 9-0 with a 2.73 ERA and 92 strikeouts. He is also a two time First Team All-Conference selection, First Team All-American, and the reigning Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year.

“I couldn’t be happier for Steven. He has a great story and he has worked hard to earn this opportunity. I cant wait to watch the next chapter of his life with the Rangers,” said Keiser Head Baseball Coach Jeremy Kennedy.
