
Flower Mound High School won its first ever girls soccer state title on Saturday night with a 2-1 win over Highland Park that concluded in a 5-3 penalty-kick overtime shootout. The game MVP was Elena Reyna.
The win followed a thrilling 5-4 comeback over Katy Cinco Ranch in the state semifinal the day before. Defender Alex Augustyn scored the winning goal with 27 seconds left in overtime.
