Foodie Friday: Upbeat new frozen yogurt spot near Castle Hills

One of Kari’s most favorite mid-day snacks is to take our whole office on field trips for frozen yogurt. This week she heard about a new frozen yogurt spot, Menchie’s, opening up in Lewisville near Castle Hills and insisted that we take a mini road trip to check it out!

Residents of Castle Hills, this is sure to be a great local hit for the whole family! There are flavors and toppings galore which can easily please even the pickiest of eaters. Whether you go for lunch, a snack, dinner or dessert – Menchie’s is a totally satisfying stop!

Much like most other frozen yogurt shops, Menchie’s operates according to the self-serve model, allowing customers to serve up as much or as little of whichever flavors their hearts desire, and then top it to their heart’s content. There’s an unlimited number of combinations to choose from!

But what makes Menchie’s unique is their commitment to make every guest who walks through the door smile with their incredibly warm and helpful staff, their high-quality frozen yogurt, and their inviting atmosphere complete with arts and crafts for the kiddos and lots of indoor/outdoor seating space for the whole crew to gather.

They’re also committed to partnering with local communities as they participate in school fundraising activities and education incentive programs. Each year, Menchie’s stores donate thousands of dollars in cash and products to support local student programs.

Which is a large reason why franchisee, Moses Kovalchuk, decided to open a Menchie’s in Lewisville. He says, “My entire family is very involved in our local community, so we decided to open a Menchie’s to continue reaching Lewisville in the most fun way possible. Menchie’s is all about making long-term relationships over a cup of frozen yogurt, so we know our friends and neighbors in the community will smile when they come to our store…”

Kovalchuk’s location just opened its doors on Tuesday and is holding a 7-day Grand Opening Celebration beginning tomorrow, December 5th, so this week is the perfect time to go check them out!

Here are some details for you with what’s happening each day:

And when you go visit Menchie’s, here are our recommendations on what to try based on what we had when we visited this week!

If you’re a fan of the infamous Dole Whip found at Disneyland/Disney World, you definitely need to try their Dole Pineapple Sorbet! It tastes just like a Dole Whip!

We were also big fans of their Andes Mint flavor and their Salted Caramel.

And one of the things I loved about Menchie’s is the option to start with a waffle bowl base! A unique little twist that I haven’t ever seen before!

Or if you want some frozen yogurt to go, you can also pick up one of their Pre-Packs! A great alternative as well!

Menchie’s truly did put a smile on our faces this week and is definitely a place we’d be willing to make the road trip down TX-121 for!

So, whether you’re a resident of Castle Hills, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Highland Village, whatever! – we recommend you go visit the new Lewisville Menchie’s this week during their Grand Opening Celebration!

Hope you have a sweet weekend, Foodies!
