Happy Monday! Here are 5 things to know today:
- Flower Mound in conjunction with the FMPD and FMFD will be filming a video about school zone safety, just in time for the kids to start traipsing after their crossing guards this fall. There’s also going to be a mock accident scene, and it’s happening between 8 a.m. and noon near Clayton Downing Middle School on Bridlewood Boulevard. Just so you know, traffic might get snagged a bit during the filming.
- Weather, hmmmm. Well, the latest weather info is that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has issued an ozone action day today. This means that in the atmosphere, conditions are ripe for ozone pollution. A good way to help combat this? Carpool to work or other places today.
- Check out some photos of the Marcus High School volleyball team. Looks like they’re ready to rock the season!
- Have you read the latest issue of Highland Village’s City Connections? You can read the whole thing online to find out more about what’s happening and how you can help during the month of August.
- Back to weather for a moment — Seriously, we’re looking at a high of 106 degrees today around the area. Stay in the shade if you can and don’t forget a bottle full of icy water!
