Highland Village police warn of phone scam

HVPD cruiserRecently, several Highland Village residents have received phone calls from someone identifying themselves as an employee of the City of Lewisville. The caller proceeds to inform the resident that their Highland Village water bill is overdue and she offers to take credit card information over the phone to make the payment.

This is not a city employee placing phone calls, according to the Highland Village Police Department.

Police urge that you do not give credit card information over the phone to anyone who identifies themselves as from the City of Lewisville or Highland Village regarding an overdue water bill.

If you receive a suspicious phone call, contact the Highland Village Police Department at 972-317-6551.
