Flower Mound officials announced the winner of its Neighborhood of the Year award as part of the annual National Night Out program.
Brookstone, which featured bounce houses, face painting and food, won the award – the second time it has been named Neighborhood of the Year. The first time was in 2006.
“They had a near perfect score with participation, theme, etc.,” said Officer Jason Buck, who handle crime prevention for the Flower Mound Police Department.
About 24 neighborhood watch parties were planned though only 11 were competing for the award. Council members joined officers, fire department command staff and others in judging the event.
