Polls open for primary runoffs

Polls are open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. across Denton County for the Primary Runoff elections.

Along with four Republican state races— Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Commissioner of Agriculture and Railroad Commissioner– there will be two local runoffs.

The contentious Denton County District Attorney race pits two-term incumbent Paul Johnson of Highland Village against attorney Karen Alexander of Lantana.

The fight for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, is a square-off between incumbent J Hand of Flower Mound and Northlake Attorney Harris Hughey.

Meet the candidates here.

If you voted in a party primary or participated in a convention, you can only vote in that same party’s runoff. If you did not vote in the March 4 Primary you can vote in the runoff election for either party.
