Breakfast with Santa
Parents and their children up to age 10 can enjoy breakfast with Santa at the Flower Mound Community Activity Center (CAC) Multipurpose Room on Saturday, December 1. Children can make a wish list, sit on Santa’s lap, and create a keepsake ornament. There will be a photographer on hand to take pictures for an additional charge. Pre-registration is required.
23rd Annual Christmas Parade
The 23rd Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 8, at 10:00am will begin on Eaton Drive and end at Marcus High School. Decorated floats will parade down Morriss Road as the Town celebrates the season with candy, music, and costumes. The parade will be broadcast on FMTV throughout the month of December. Morriss Road will be closed to accommodate the parade between Cross Timbers Road and Marcus High School, from 8:00am to approximately noon. Gingerbread House Decorating
Create holiday memories with your child on Sunday, December 9, from 2:00pm-4:00pm by joining other families at the CAC Multipurpose Room for gingerbread house decorating. Staff will provide the gingerbread house and many different decorating materials. Price is $20/$22. Pre-registration is required.
Kids Night Out
Parents can enjoy Christmas shopping on Friday, December 9, from 6:00pm-9:00pm while the kids have a blast swimming, eating pizza, having hot cocoa, cookie decorating, making ornaments and watching the Polar Express! Make sure to bring a swim suit and towel. The price is $15/$17 and an additional child is $10/$11. Fun & Pre-registration is required.
Grinch Scramble
Join the Parks and Recreation Division for the Award-Winning Grinch Scramble Friday, December 14, at 7:00pm. Bring your family, grab your flashlight, and head out to Gerault Park, 1200 Gerault Road, to search high and low for thousands of candy canes. While searching, keep your eyes peeled for the Grinch to win a variety of prizes! Comet will be making a special appearance from the North Pole for kids of all ages to take pictures with, along with Cindy Lou Who and the Grinch himself! Games, crafts, hayrides, and music will make this an event you won’t want to miss! Activities begin at 7:00pm with the Scramble beginning promptly at 7:30pm.
Adventures Guide
The Winter/Spring 2013 edition of Adventures, Flower Mound’s newest guide to parks, recreation, library, and Seniors in Motion activities is now available online. Packed with information about special events, education and fitness classes, and the Community Activity Center, Adventures is your guide to leisure activities in Flower Mound. Registration for Winter/Spring programs and classes at the CAC is now open.
Holiday Hours
The CAC will be closed on Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. The CAC will resume normal hours on Wednesday, December 26. The CAC will have modified hours on Monday, December 31 from 5:00am-5:00pm, and will be closed on Tuesday, January 1 in observance of the New Year. The CAC will resume normal hours on Wednesday, January 2. During LISD Holidays, the Indoor Pool will be available for Open Swim Monday-Saturday, 11:00am-8:00pm, and Sunday, 1:00pm-6:00pm.
Christmas Tree Recycling
The Parks & Recreation Division will offer free Christmas tree recycling between 8:00am-3:00pm from Dec. 26 through Jan. 8 at Gerault Park, 1200 Gerault Road. After hours drop off is allowed in the designated area after hours at this same location. The trees cannot be flocked and all decorations and nails must be removed. Lumber and trash will not be accepted. Residents who would like mulch are encouraged to bring their own containers. For more information, call 972.874.PARK.
