HVPD School Resource Officer April Roppolo was hospitalized Tuesday with a heart condition which required major surgery, according to the police department.
Roppolo spent the night in the intensive care unit at the Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano and was in recovery as of Wednesday morning.
In lieu of cash donations, it is requested those interested give blood at any of the local donor centers, such as Carter BloodCare, 1565 W. Main St, Lewisville, (972) 219-1666.
The police department has established an Facebook page to update the public on her recovery status.
