Liberty bounces back to advance in playoffs

Liberty Christian rallied from a 10-point deficit on Saturday to defeat San Antonio Antonian 42-17 to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

Camron Cornett got things going for the Warriors, scoring on a 15-yard run to start the game.

Antonian scored 17 unanswered points before Graham Richardson returned a kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown to make it 17-14 at half time.

The second half was all Liberty Christian, as Hunter Griffith scored on a touchdown pass from Foster Ford, JonAaron Howell scored on a touchdown run and Ford added two runs of his own.

Cornett rushed for 171 yards, and Ford combined for 261 yards of total offense and three touchdowns.

Griffith finished the game with 122 yards receiving.

Liberty Christian will next play Trinity Christian-Addison on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m. at Frisco Memorial Stadium.
