More ground spraying scheduled in Flower Mound

Mosquito samples collected near the intersection of Skillern and River Hill in west Flower Mound near Wellington tested positive for the West Nile virus, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The Town of Flower Mound will conduct spraying operations in the approximate one-half mile radius surrounding that area on Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 27-29, between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Spraying operations may be rescheduled if weather conditions don’t cooperate.

Residents in the affected neighborhoods will be notified by CodeRed call and community signs placed at major intersections within the spraying area.

Residents are advised to minimize exposure when possible.

This is the 15th positive sample of mosquitoes in Flower Mound this year.
