A FMHS graduate is hosting a private party in Flower Mound to help widowed women in Africa.
Katie Herrick, a senior at Texas State University in San Marcos, said the party on Friday, April 6, will help spread the word about True Vineyard Ministries and gain more support for the women and children in Rwanda, Africa.
Herrick is a member of the Texas State SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) team, and True Vineyard Ministries is an important project that the team concentrates on each year.
True Vineyard Ministries (TVM) is a San Marcos-based non-profit organization that sells an array of items such as jewelry, headbands, and purses. Everything is handmade in Africa by different artists, and all the proceeds go to support the ministries’ non-profit work for the widowed women in Rwanda.
The private parties are a major part of TVM, and SIFE helps out with hosting and organizing the events.
Herrick said that the Texas State SIFE team supports and believes in True Vineyard Ministries’ mission, “True Vineyard Ministries, Inc. is a Christian organization providing holistic support to Africa’s poorest through job creation, community building and spiritual counsel”.
SIFE is a global, non-profit organization that is literally changing the world through highly dedicated student teams on more than 1600 university campuses in 40 countries.
