Right on track

The Denton County Transportation Authority began service on their A-train commuter rail system Saturday with free train rides, ribbon cuttings and live music.

DCTA officials said that 8,335 passengers rode the rails during the opening day festivities.

If you missed it, no worries…train rides will be free through this Friday.

The 21-mile commuter rail line runs from downtown Denton to Carrollton, with five stations, including stops in Highland Village and Lewisville.

From the southernmost Carrollton station, riders can transfer to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit rail lines and connect to downtown Dallas and other locations.
