Seniors celebrate holidays

A crepe paper tree, giant ornament displays, festive holiday china, a fireplace with naughty and nice stockings, great food and marvelous musical entertainment. These and many helping hands were the ingredients that made such a success of the annual Christmas lunch for the Active Older Adults (AOA) group at the Cross Timbers YMCA in Flower Mound on Friday, Dec. 10.

The event was held in the gym at the Y, which was transformed into a colorful holiday scene. Volunteers decorated tables which they set with seasonal china brought from home. Mike’s Italian Market and Deli catered and marvelous holiday music was provided by Tommy Chandler.

Highlights were a “Night Before Christmas” waltz danced by the low impact aerobics class and a collection of funds to provide a scholarship to the YMCA children or family programs.
