The Cross Timbers Family YMCA announced Tuesday that the Town of Flower Mound has selected them to be the provider of the town’s volleyball and basketball youth sports programs.
Town officials made the switch to the Y after discontinuing their contract this past spring with Flower Mound-based Elevate! Youth Sports to provide volleyball and basketball services.
The Cross Timbers Family YMCA branch, located on Cross Timbers Rd. in Flower Mound, serves nearly 4,800 children annually in youth sports and has been in existence since 1982, according to Tricia Meinhold, Executive Director.
In 2009, the YMCA added a competitive branch to their youth sports program called Cross Timbers Sports.
