The Denton Independent School District is recognizing 91 students from its three high schools as part of a new program that honors student athletes for their academic success.
Beginning this school year, the district is acknowledging the commitment to excellence its varsity athletes display with the Denton ISD UIL Varsity Scholar Athlete Award.
All student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 through the first semester of the current academic year, represent Denton ISD in a positive light and have been approved as a selection by their varsity head coach.
