Will serve with integrity

Why am I running for the office of Denton County Court at Law Number One, and what makes me uniquely qualified to do so? An extensive law education, a substantial amount of experience as a law enforcement officer and a felony prosecutor in the Denton County District Attorney’s Office, and a commitment to public service that spans my entire adult life will allow me to serve the citizens of Denton County as a fair and impartial judge in the county’s only juvenile court.

I hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, and have served as member of the legal community since 1993. Originally as a detention officer in an East Texas sheriff’s office, next as a police officer in Carrollton, and currently as a felony prosecutor in the Denton County District Attorney’s Office. This educational background, combined with 16 years of service as a law enforcement officer and in the Denton County District Attorney’s office, will allow me to bring a uniquely-qualified and experiences perspective to Denton County’s Court at Law Number One.

My commitment to Denton County and my understanding of the legal, ethical, and moral beliefs we have as citizens has been forged through community service as a current member or associate member of the State Bar of Texas, Denton County Bar Association, Texas County and District Attorneys Association, and associate membership in the Denton Republican Women’s Club and the Robson Ranch Republican Club. I have learned that the citizens of Denton County are committed to justice and the rule of law, our residents deserve a judge who is capable of following the law as charged by the Texas Legislature, while also still being able to serve the citizens of this County. As a husband and father of two, I will follow an ethical mandate the public has always required of its elected officials, while also fairly serving the residents and families of Denton County.

My pledge to Denton County is simple. If elected, I will hear cases promptly and rule in a fair and impartial manner according to the law and evidence. I will treat each person in the court room, including law enforcement representatives, attorneys, and citizens, with respect and courtesy and will fulfill my obligations to the community in a manner that brings honor to the Court and pride to Denton County. Denton County has only one juvenile court, we deserve an educated and experienced judge who will fairly serve with impartiality, ethics, and integrity.
