Foodie Friday: Enjoy a Peaceful Meal at Yellow Rose Steak and Chop House

3-27 yellow roseI just couldn’t fight off the craving this week for a great steak, so we re-visited one of our favorite Foodie Friday owners, Svetlana Schoggins, at Yellow Rose Steak & Chop House in Parker Square of Flower Mound.

I love that this restaurant is located a little off the busy, beaten path of Flower Mound so you can truly enjoy a quiet and peaceful meal in its warm and inviting environment.

If you missed our original post about Yellow Rose, here’s a little recap of how Svetlana and her husband, Sky, came to own the restaurant. In her previous business life, Svetlana was actually an accountant and then spent several years at home helping raise their children. After a few years, she and Sky began looking for a local business they could get their hands on to get Svetlana back in the business world. And because they both had a great passion for food, they discovered Yellow Rose and purchased the restaurant in December of 2013.

One of the reasons I’ve kept going back to Yellow Rose is because of the time and care they put into each of their dishes. This is definitely not like fast food that’s pre-made and sits out for hours before being served. Each dish is cooked to order and is made with the purest of ingredients.

Would you like to know what we ordered this time?

We were first served with some of their fresh oven-baked bread with its perfect crispy crust and soft interior.

I, once again, was the only man at the table so I ordered a 12 oz. Prime New York Strip with a side of seasonal vegetables and Yellow Rose’s most famous side (and one of my all-time personal favorite Foodie Friday items), the Potatoes Dauphinoise which are kind of like like scalloped potatoes, all buttery and smothered with cheese. Delicious!

Kari ordered the grilled chicken sandwich served on a ciabetta bun with applewood smoked bacon, melted Swiss cheese and honey mustard and served with a side of house made French fries. The chicken has a great marinade on it and it is the perfect combination of flavors. And the home made fries were amazing as well!

Crissy got the pan-seared tilapia finished with a lemon buerre blanc and served with rice pilaf and seasonal vegetables. She said the tilapia tasted fresh and delicious and all the items paired together made for a great combination.

And our newest team member, Leigh Ann, ordered some of their bacon wrapped scallops which came out beautifully plated and she said they were fresh and incredible as well.

We were really well-behaved and chose to forgo dessert this time, but when you find yourself at Yellow Rose, be sure to save some room for their Ultimate Chocolate Cake. It’s a huge slice of layered cake and is definitely worth splurging some calories on. Just something to consider…

So, keep Yellow Rose Steak & Chop House in mind the next time you’re looking for a romantic evening out or are looking for a quiet and comfortable place to host your next business lunch. They even have a private room you can rent out for events.

We hope you head over to Parker Square soon to give this place a try if you haven’t before – we’d love for you to support Svetlana and Sky in their dream of owning a restaurant!
