Double Oak stops police talks with Bartonville

The Double Oak Town Council on Monday night voted 3 to 2 to cease informal talks with the Town of Bartonville about entering into an interlocal agreement for shared police services.

Discussions between the towns regarding possible law enforcement coverage options stemmed from rising financial concerns related to the safety needs of Bartonville and its projected commercial growth.

The Bartonville Town Council will hold a community forum to discuss the future of the town’s police department on Tuesday, August 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, 2200 E. Jeter Road in Bartonville.
