Flower Mound firefighters on Monday night quickly extinguished a small grass fire on the Flower Mound wildflower preserve at 2500 Flower Mound Rd.
Flower Mound police dispatch said the call came in around 11:18 p.m. and the fire was out by 11:28 p.m.
The blaze was possibly caused by fireworks, according to a witness that lives nearby.
“There was a small explosion and 20 yards of flames on the north face of the Mound. I could hear some male voices of surprise or distress,” said Phil Plank.
No arrests were made as of early Tuesday morning, according to police dispatch.
