Foodie Friday: Burgers & Brats

I was really in the mood for a great burger this week and as I was talking to another one of our Foodie Friday restaurant owners, he told me that I MUST get over to Burgers & Brats off Long Prairie Rd in front of the Best Buy and across the street from Super Target. He told me it’s the best burger I’ll ever have!

Those are some pretty big expectations to go into a Foodie Friday lunch with, but I can honestly say that Burgers & Brats did not disappoint! We met a couple of our favorite clients over there and were able to enjoy a great meal together.

Burgers & Brats feels like an authentic local burger joint from the moment you walk in, with its cozy seating area and the grill right out where everyone can see it. It was awesome to feel like we were in a small-town local restaurant while still being right in the middle of all the retail and other chain restaurants in that Flower Mound-Highland Village area.

Each of us had such a hard time choosing something to order because everything on their menu sounded mouth-watering! The restaurant offers a wide array of options including several types of German style pork sausage and pork and beef sausage for brat enthusiasts. All of their sausage comes straight from Fischer’s German Meat Market in the German town of Muenster, Texas. And the brats are served up on freshly baked bread rolls from Bayer’s Kolonialwaren und Backeri in Muenster.

And the burgers truly were delicious and satisfied my craving! I watched them make our order from start to finish – using a 1/2-pound of high-quality beef, seasoned and cooked and topped with delicious ingredients, including bacon, mushrooms, chili, jalapenos, guacamole, BBQ sauce and zesty mayo.

Today I decided to go the spicy route and ordered their Road Rage burger which is sprinkled with cayenne pepper and is topped with pepperjack cheese and jalapenos. Our clients ordered the Long & Winding Road with bacon crumbles, sauteed mushrooms and onions and the Speed Bump burger with bacon crumbles, chopped onions, cheddar cheese and smoky BBQ sauce.

Kari ordered one of their chicken sandwiches for a little healthier variety (you know, besides the cheese and the ranch) – the Texas Ranch which had pico, cheddar cheese, jalapenos and ranch dressing.

The flavors in all of our dishes were incredible and we were all talking afterward about how delicious and satisfying our lunch was. And by the looks of the Friday lunch rush, I’d say there are a lot of other people in the area who feel the same way. But it’s not just locals who eat here – one of our clients told us that he’s heard of people driving all the way from Fort Worth for one of their burgers or brats! I’d say that’s a pretty great testament to the quality of the food.

If you’re looking for an authentic-feeling burger joint to chow down at this weekend, head on over to Burgers & Brats. With so many great menu options, you’re sure to find the perfect fit for you – whether you want a burger with some spice, a chicken sandwich, delicious German brats or a veggie burger.

Let them know that you heard about them from my blog and then let me know which item you ordered and what you thought!

Until next week, Foodies!
