Candidate says thanks

Dear Friends, Supporters, and Neighbors;

I am humbled to know that so many of you cast your vote for me, and the things I believe in.   One of the greatest pleasures of this campaign has been to hear your concerns, share ideas, and make new friends. I truly have appreciated your support, kind words, and friendship.

To my opponent, Mr. Lyda, I say, “Congratulations”.  I wish you well as you are thrust into a very difficult situation.  Addressing the Town’s serious budget issues, meeting the expressed demands of the electorate, and maintaining the rights of mineral owners will be a tall task.  I hope that you are successful.

As I have stated previously, now is the time for healing.  We should all step back from the rhetoric of the past six months, and not only seek out common ground, but also build upon the common ground that we find.  Flower Mound has a very bright future and it is the citizens of Flower Mound who will make it a reality.

To Gerald Robinson, I say thank-you for leading by example, with respect, dignity and honor.  You are a class act, whom I am privileged to call a friend.

To Jody Smith, thank-you does not begin to say what needs to be said.  Now that the election is behind us, I hope that all in our community will take a moment to think about what you, as Mayor, have accomplished over the past six years.  An exceptional quality of life, low taxes, top notch fire & safety, strong economic development even in a struggling economy, and a brand new hospital.  This legacy has been and will be enjoyed by all of us for many years to come.  I ask everyone who has benefited from your selfless commitment, to attend the next Town Council meeting (May 17th) and thank you personally.

It has been my privilege to campaign with Jody and Gerald.  I have learned from them, and appreciated their openness and willingness to engage, not because it would be easy, but because it was the right thing to do.

With deep appreciation and respect,

Bryan C. Webb
Flower Mound, TX
