Doctor to discuss health care legislation with GOP women

Dr. Susan K. Blue, M.D., a clinical neurologist in Fort Worth, will address the current health care legislation and trends from the perspective of the physician and the patient at this month’s Denton Republican Women’s Club meeting on Wednesday.

Dr. Blue will discuss her concerns about the potential of a major negative impact on the quality of health care, and on the accessibility of care. She will also discuss policies already in place that have changed patient care and privacy in recent years.

Dr. Blue is past president of the Tarrant County Medical Society, which represents over 3,000 physicians, and of the Board of that organization.  She also served as president of Texas Neurological Society, which represents over five hundred neurologists. She held gubernatorial appointments to the Texas Rehabilitation Council, and the Medical Advisory Board of the State of Texas.

Currently she is a member of the Governance and Finance Workgroup of the Texas Health Services Authority, which will coordinate the health information exchange initiative in Texas.

The DRWC will meet at Miguelito’s Restaurant in downtown Denton at the corner of Bell and McKinney.  Those attending may go through the Tex-Mex buffet line at 11:30 and the meeting will begin at noon.

All interested Republicans are welcome to attend, according to Lee Ann Breading, DRWC President.
