Since 2004, the City of Highland Village and the Highland Village Business Association have honored local veterans each November by hosting the Salute Our Veterans luncheon.
The annual event is a time of fellowship for Veterans and gives the community a chance to celebrate those who served our country. It is also the forum for awarding Congressional Veteran Commendations to area Veterans by Congressman Michael Burgess.
Support from local businesses and individuals is needed to ensure each Veteran and a guest has a meal provided to them at no cost.
The Highland Village Business Association is seeking sponsorships for the annual Salute Our Veterans luncheon, which will take place this year on Nov. 10.
In 2022, Veterans representing all branches of service, from Highland Village, Lewisville, Flower Mound and surrounding areas had their lunch paid through sponsorship funds.
The goal this year is to provide free lunch to 100 Veterans, and the city needs 19 more sponsorships to meet its goal.
Sponsorships begin at $50, which covers the cost of two veteran’s lunches. If you choose to sponsor additional veterans, the lunches are sold in increments of $25, allowing you to choose the amount of your donation, $100 for four veterans, $150 for six veterans, etc.
