Argyle seeking suggestions to name community park

Argyle community park

The town of Argyle is seeking residents’ suggestions to give its community park a name.

The park, located on Crawford Road near Hwy 377, opened in spring 2018, but it doesn’t have an official name. It’s been casually called Argyle Community Park or Unity Park, but the town wants to give it a real name. With a donation from BPS Jet, the town’s newest corporate sponsor, the town will be able to purchase a monument sign for the park, according to a news release from the town of Argyle.

The town wants residents to provide suggestions for the park’s name with a Park Naming Contest on the town’s Facebook page. Submit your suggestion in the comment section of this Facebook post by July 15, and then the town will select a handful of names for the community to vote on via Facebook. That round of voting will end July 31, according to the news release, and the Argyle Town Council will take action on the name change on Aug. 13.
