Rising lake levels prompt Highland Village to close parks, road

The city of Highland Village has closed parks and roads because of rising lake levels.

Lots of rain has fallen in North Texas in the past week, and more rain Friday is causing flooding problems with Lake Lewisville. According to a news release from the city of Highland Village, the city has closed Edgewater Drive, which is the way to access Sunset Point Park. Police will monitor the area for safety.

The boat ramp, day use area and several campsites at Pilot Knoll Park have been closed, and the boat ramp at Copperas Branch Parkhas also been closed, as of late Friday morning.
