The season came to an end for the Guyer football team, losing to Mansfield 44-7 on Saturday afternoon at Dragon Stadium in Southlake.
Things looked good early on for the Wildcats, as Shawn Robinson scored on a 15-yard run to give Guyer a 7-0 lead heading into the second quarter.
It was all Mansfield from there, as the Tigers scored 44 unanswered points to advance to the state semifinals.
Although Robinson rushed for 107 yards in the game for the Wildcats, the absence of freshman running back Noah Cain due to injury was a factor.
Guyer finished the season with a 10-4 record, and finished second overall in the district 5-6A standings.
