Demolition of remaining FM 407 bridge scheduled

35Express graphic -- 35express websiteAs crews work to finish off the demolition of the FM 407 bridge over I-35E in Lewisville, lane closures will be on tap for tonight.

The northbound frontage road approaching the bridge and westbound Lake Park Road approaching the frontage road will experience intermittent closures in 15-minute increments between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.

The demolition of the bridge will allow work to continue on the new northbound mainlane bridge that will eventually travel over FM 407. At least one lane in each direction will reopen on FM 407 by late 2015.

The work is related to the 35Express project, an expansion of I-35E between U.S. Highway 380 in Denton County and I-635 in Dallas County.
