The northbound lanes of I-35E are reopened after being shut down at the south end of Lewisville Lake due to a traffic accident Friday afternoon.
An 18-wheeler carrying bananas caught on fire on the highway near Garden Ridge Boulevard around 4:30 p.m.
Traffic was delayed for miles on I-35E and many motorists sought alternate routes, including FM 2499 through Flower Mound and Highland Village.
