Foodie Friday: Spend Hallow’s Eve at The Grotto Bar & Patio in Highland Village

We love Chef Morris Salerno and his fabulous restaurant, Bistecca, located in Highland Village. You may know it as The Grotto, which is now what they now call the bar & patio portion of the restaurant.

If you don’t have kids or are shipping them off to have fun with friends tonight, The Grotto is hosting a Halloween Party starting at 5:00pm where they’re serving ghoulish appetizers and Halloween-themed specialty drinks! But make sure you go in your best costume because they’re handing out prizes for the Top 3!

If you’ve never been to Bistecca or The Grotto or if you haven’t been since they made the big change earlier this year, we’re here to give you a little advice and information on what to expect.

The Grotto has been a Flower Mound and Highland Village institution since it opened in 1994 and has been many people’s go-to restaurant for celebrating special events ever since.

Chef Morris is what you might call a local celebrity and icon. Earlier this year he was awarded the Circle of Honor trophy by the Texas Chef Association and was also given the Spirit of Flower Mound award by the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce. Many people know Chef Morris for his generosity in giving back to local residents through his charitable efforts.

Earlier this year, The Grotto underwent a change to transform the fine-dining portion of the restaurant into Bistecca. They made some wonderful enhancements to their menu and have established a reputation of offering fresh and seasonal ingredients with a fine-dining experience.

You can enjoy lots of great dishes when you head to Bistecca including their famous Steak Salerno, heirloom tomatoes served with mozzarella and goat cheese and balsamic glaze, fresh snapper and Lamb Osso Bucco.

But one of my ultimate favorites is their Chocolate Explosion dessert. It’s served with a hot chocolate sauce poured over the centerpiece which cracks open revealing a hot, fresh chocolate cake with strawberries. So incredibly delicious.

So, while you head out tonight to Bistecca to enjoy some ghoulish appetizers and spooky spirits, be sure to check out the fine-dining side of the restaurant as well.

Tell Chef Morris “Happy Halloween” for us and have a FUN NIGHT!

Trick or treat, Foodies!
