Educational consultant Katie Greer will lead a “Parent University” learning opportunity on Sept. 2 for all Lewisville ISD parents.
Parents are invited to attend the session with Greer, who will help them navigate today’s technology-driven society by helping them with tips for safe gaming, proactive steps to ensure their children are using technology safely, the latest in cyberbullying laws and more.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. at Lewisville High School’s Leo C. Stuver Auditorium at 1098 W. Main St. in Lewisville.
Greer also will discuss social networking, offer updates on the latest technology trends and provide information on cell phones, smartphones and devices.
“We are happy to ring in the new school year with this exciting Parent U event for our community,” LISD Superintendent Dr. Stephen F. Waddell said in a news release. “As a former Intelligence Analyst for the Massachusetts State Police and Director of Internet Safety for the Massachusetts Attorney Generals’ Office, Ms. Greer has immense knowledge about protecting students’ well-being online. I am confident parents will leave with great conversation starters to have with their children.”
