After several years of seeing a pair of “Coming Soon” signs, area residents will finally see commercial buildings going up later this year at FM 407 and Simmons Road.
Kwik Kar Wash and Dry Clean Supercenter will soon sprout up next to Kwik Kar Lube & Auto Care of Lantana.
Ray Ellis, President of Kwik Industries, said that he hopes to close on the lots the middle of April and begin construction on the two buildings soon thereafter.
Kwik Kar Wash will offer both a full service and express car wash along with a vehicle detailing center housed in a 6,000 square-foot facility with a stone exterior, consistent with Lantana’s Architectural Control Guidelines.
“You can drive the car through the wash yourself, so when mom comes up with the kids in the car she can go on through and keep going on her way,” said Ellis.
Each Kwik brand store is developed and built by Kwik Industries and sold to a buyer who will independently own and operate their unit.
Ellis said that the owner-operator of Kwik Kar Wash is relocating back to Texas from out of state and used to live in Double Oak.
Next door to the car wash will be a 4,000 square-foot Dry Clean Super Center with an “eco-friendly” cleaning plant on site, said Ellis.
“It’s not going to be a “green” building but it will be awfully close,” said Ellis.
The car wash is expected to open by this August and the dry cleaners should be open by September.
In addition, Republic Property Group officials announced last fall that Pizza Hut is locating next door to Sonic by late summer.
