Valerie Turner of Flower Mound (center) took first place in the student essay contest at the Conference on American Leadership sponsored by the North Central Texas College Honors Program Saturday at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth.
Turner was awarded a $300 scholarship for her winning essay. She is pictured with NCTC professor Marcia Little (left) and NCTC Honors Program Coordinator Dr. Rochelle Gregory (right).
